Registration Open for 3rd Edition of Gelephu T20 Men’s Championship

Registration is officially open for the 3rd edition of the Gelephu T20 Men’s Championship, set to commence on 2nd May 2026 at the Gelephu International Cricket Ground, Gelephu, Bhutan. The championship will be hosted at the heart of the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) project, a landmark initiative promoting sustainable urban development, wellness, and community engagement. By bringing the tournament to this vibrant hub, the event not only celebrates cricket but also highlights GMC as a center for sports, culture, and active community life in southern Bhutan.

Since its inception in 2024, the championship has grown rapidly, providing a competitive platform for club teams from across Bhutan. The inaugural edition featured 20 teams, drawing enthusiastic participation and establishing the tournament as a highlight in the region’s cricket calendar.

Building on past successes, the 2026 edition will feature 20 teams, including approximately 10 teams from India alongside Bhutanese clubs. The tournament will follow a fast-paced T20 format with a round-robin league structure, ensuring teams have multiple opportunities to compete while delivering thrilling matches for players and fans alike.

Registrations are now open and will close on 5th April 2026. Teams are encouraged to register early, as participation is limited to 20 teams.

The championship offers an impressive total prize pool of Nu. 1,035,000, with Nu. 500,000 for the champions, Nu. 200,000 for the runners-up, and Nu. 335,000 allocated for individual player awards, celebrating exceptional performances throughout the tournament.
