RTC–BOC SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP

RTC–BOC SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP AWARDED TO TWO NATIONAL CRICKET PLAYERS

Royal Thimphu College (RTC), in collaboration with the Bhutan Olympic Committee (BOC), has announced sports scholarships for the Bachelor of Sports and Health Sciences programme for the academic year 2026–2030. The scholarship covers full tuition and boarding costs for four years, supporting student-athletes in balancing academics and sport.

Among the selected recipients are two national cricket players, Tashi Chophel and Sangay Yangzom, both part of the senior national cricket squad, marking an important milestone in their sporting and academic journeys.

Heartfelt congratulations to both players on this achievement. This is a well-deserved recognition of their dedication, discipline, and continued commitment to representing Bhutan in cricket while pursuing their academic goals.

Speaking on the opportunity, Sangay Yangzom said, “It gives me the opportunity to continue my studies at RTC while staying committed to representing Bhutan in cricket. I am grateful for the support and trust shown in me, and I see this as a responsibility to work harder and improve continuously.”

Tashi Chophel shared similar sentiments, saying, “This scholarship is recognition of my journey so far and motivates me to keep pushing forward in both academics and cricket. I am thankful to RTC, BOC, Bhutan Cricket, and everyone involved for this opportunity.”
