BHUTAN CRICKET APPOINTS NATIONAL COACHES TO STRENGTHEN DEVELOPMENT PATHWAY
The Bhutan Cricket Council Board (BCCB) has announced key coaching appointments across its national structure, marking an important step in strengthening the country’s long term player development pathway.
Arzoo Raj as Head Coach of the Women’s National Team, Tenzin Wangchuk as Head Coach of the U16 Men’s team, Yeshey Choden has been appointed as Head Coach of the U16 Women’s team, Kumar Subba as Head Coach of the U19 Men’s team and Kencho Norbu as Head Coach of the U19 Women’s team.
The appointments span across U16, U19, and senior women’s cricket, reinforcing BCCB’s commitment to building a structured and consistent coaching framework from grassroots to elite level. This move reflects a clear focus on developing a unified pathway that strengthens talent identification, skill progression, and long term performance standards across all levels of Bhutan Cricket.
BCCB emphasized that aligning coaching roles across age groups and the senior setup will ensure continuity in training methods, player development philosophy, and performance monitoring. The Board also highlighted the importance of consistency in coaching systems and closer coordination between national and age group programs.
Efforts are currently underway to further strengthen the coaching ecosystem through structured development frameworks, regular evaluation processes, and improved communication channels between coaches and technical staff. BCCB also plans to expand its coaching panel by integrating both local and international expertise to enhance knowledge sharing and long term capacity building.
The Board reiterated that these appointments are part of its broader vision to develop a sustainable and professional cricket structure in Bhutan, supported by strong leadership, improved systems, and clear development pathways from grassroots to national level.
