PLAYER GRADING CONTRACT SYSTEM
Bhutan Cricket Strengthens High Performance Structure with 2026 National Player Contracts
The Bhutan Cricket Council Board (BCCB) is proud to announce the Annual National Player Contracts for Team Bhutan Senior Men and Senior Women for the 2026 season. This marks the second year of Bhutan’s structured National Player Contract system, first introduced in 2025, reflecting the Board’s unwavering commitment to professionalising cricket in the country and supporting athletes in a performance-driven, sustainable environment.
The continuation of the National Player Contract framework underscores the BCCB’s long-term vision: to elevate performance standards, enhance player welfare, and align Bhutan’s national programme with international best practices. By formalising contracts, the Board ensures players can fully dedicate themselves to training, development, and competition while upholding the highest standards of discipline, fitness, and professionalism.
For the 2026 season, 40 players have been awarded national contracts: 20 Senior Men and 20 Senior Women. The grading structure is as follows:
- Grade A: 3 players, receiving Nu. 360,000 annually
- Grade B: 4 players, receiving Nu. 240,000 annually
- Grade C: 13 players, receiving Nu. 120,000 annually.
This system rewards excellence, leadership, and commitment, while providing clear pathways for players to progress. It encourages those in lower grades to develop their skills and leadership abilities, fostering a competitive yet supportive environment that benefits both the individual and the team.
The 40 contracted players form the core of Bhutan’s national squads, representing the country at all levels and driving high performance on both international and domestic stages. Through structured contracts and performance-based incentives, the BCCB sends a clear message: Bhutan Cricket is committed to nurturing elite athletes, cultivating a culture of professionalism, and establishing the nation as a resilient and competitive force in international cricket.
