President’s Message on Hosting the Inaugural Lotus Cup

The Bhutan Cricket Council Board is delighted to host the inaugural “Lotus Cup – Women’s T20I Tri-Series”, scheduled to take place from 20th to 29th January 2026 at the Gelephu International Cricket Ground. This prestigious tournament will feature the national women’s teams of Bhutan, Hong Kong, China, and Malaysia.

The hosting of this Tri-Series marks a significant milestone in Bhutan Cricket’s journey to promote excellence, inclusivity, and opportunity in women’s cricket. It reflects our steadfast commitment to providing a competitive international platform for women athletes and to fostering the spirit of sportsmanship and cooperation among nations. This is the second occasion on which Bhutan is hosting a women’s international cricket tournament, following the successful hosting of a bilateral series last year, and now advancing to a Tri-Series format.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the participating teams and officials for being part of this historic event, and warmly welcome them to the Kingdom of Bhutan. We are confident that the Lotus Cup will not only deliver high-quality cricket but also inspire the next generation of women cricketers across the region.
